Sandwiches are a real quick and great option for breakfast. We love our sandwiches flavorful and with a punch of spice. This sandwich spread recipe is a very old tried and tested one and it is the perfect choice with the bursting flavors of mint and cilantro.
Ingredients:
- Cilantro/ coriander leaves- 2 cups
- Mint leaves-1/4 cup
- Ginger-1 inch piece
- garlic-2-3 cloves
- green chillies-4-5 (adjust as per taste)
- a tiny piece of tamarind ( size of a penny)
- salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Method:
Wash the cilantro and mint leaves nicely.
Combine all the ingredients except lemon juice and grind to a smooth paste in a mixer/ blender, adding very little water.
Add the lemon juice and give it a stir.

You may also add half a boiled potato while grinding. This will make the spread from becoming runny and make it even more filling .
To serve this just apply some chutney/ spread along with butter on a slice of bread. Top it with cucumber, tomatoes, beetroot, lettuce ..or any choice of vegetables, cover it with another slice of bread and your ready to go!
